Holding true to tradition, Roka Akor’s Izakaya menu features an impressive selection of small plates as well as a large cocktail menu including affordable beers, wines, sake and shochu.
SHOCHU TONICS
Shochu is a vodka-like (although less strong) distilled spirit which dates back to 14th century Japan. As shochu became increasingly popular because of its health benefits as a tonic, different Japanese regions began making their own variations using local produce such as rice, barley and sweet potato.
Roka Akor’s stylish tonics are created by macerating fruits and herbs in the shochu to enhance its natural taste. The range of over forty flavours can include raspberry, plum and ginseng, pine needle, jasmine, lemon, blood orange, and wild strawberry.
Ice is a signature detail in Roka Akor's shochu tonics. At Roka Akor, ice is made from purified water, which is frozen over many days without oxygen to form crystal clear blocks. These are then hand-carved into miniature icebergs for each glass, ensuring that every tonic is chilled and served at its finest strength, quality and flavour.
