Named one of the top sushi spots in the United States by Bon Appetit magazine in 2009, Roka Akor has a contemporary Japanese steak-house ambiance with a wraparound sushi bar, where patrons can watch skilled sushi chefs at work. Known for its fresh food, cooked over oak charcoal, the restaurant serves a menu with tempura and sashimi dishes and robata grilled seafood, steak and vegetable options. Along with premium sakes, wines and non-alcoholic beer and mojitos, guests can try such specialty cocktails as the hani-pru and the Banzai Mule. During happy hour from 4:30 to 7 p.m. daily, the restaurant has half-priced premium martinis and shochu infusions, $3 off glasses of wine, $5 glasses of saki, margaritas and mojitos and $6 deals on two Japanese beers. It also has happy hour specials on burgers and sushi, tempura, sashimi and vegetable plates.
